Hi, we should support exported goods, not boycott them. If there's an insight that tells Dairy Crest "British" sells more than "English" then I'm fine with the change.

As flags are so divisive in NI, there is never going to be a solution as to what is correct for food packaging so it should just be left at 'produce of Northern Ireland'. This distingushes the product as coming from the six counties that comprise NI. Ulster can include products from a further 3 counties and could be offensive to people from both sides of the divide.

Rab above is an example of the very people he calls uneducated, ignorant and bigoted. The flag of Ulster is definitely not the Union Flag just as Ulster is definitely not a country.

In your efforts at political correctness, you will only succeed in becoming bogged down by becoming involved in the politics of NI.

It's a cheap and convienient option for many shoppers. Are you saying we should just submit to its anti-English bias and leave it be?

interesting stuff, and bizarre that the Scotland is something apparently to be proud of, but the St. georges flag not.

Have written on this subject, you can find my thoughts at http://edwardsmindovermatter.blogspot.com/

I'm having trouble sending an E-mail to these people. can anyone do this for me?

---------------------------------------

Hello there, I have noticed that your Website logo has the Union Flag filling up the images of an Apple and Pear, this is of great confusion to me as your Web address and title clearly states 'English' apples and pears, I feel it is my duty to tell you that your logo designer made a terrible mistake, by having the union flag on the logo people get the impression that your Apples and Pears originate from areas outside of England as well as within, this of course would be highly embarrassing as it could very well conflict with the False advertising Law of Photo manipulation.

I personally would reccomend that you change the logo picture to a the flag of England (thats the Cross of Saint George) or changing the company name to British instead.

Yours Sincerly

George Ireland.

Lets try to simplify this matter . The national flag of the UK is the Union flag (a combination of St Andrew/St Patrick/St George flags). The rest (Northern Ireland/Ulster flags etc..) are regional national flags.
