Tesco display their characteristic contempt for the English.

These “customer focus groups” findings must be downright lies!
Not only Tesco,& there scots led customer service mafia, who have threatened to remove everthing marked English, throw away & replace with Newly marked British !
They have a Brussels connection & agenda !
The British Retail Consortium is behind this via gordon brown, only a stone’s thro from parliament, the offices are run by director scot Alasdair Gray with a joint office in Brussels, they nail, another into a English coffin! The BRC are the ones to be Protesting to , there unelected undemocratic agendas ! with there evil agendas these people are dictators & tyrants just like the unelected leader Gordon Brown !
And, of course, the BRC has a Scottish arm – http://www.brc.org.uk/srcdefaultnew.asp
I’d just like to commend Marks and Spencers. I had a very nice English steak from there yesterday, proudly displaying the Cross of St George on the packaging. I chose it over the Scottish steak, which was advertised with a union flag! Obviously some companies are doing things right.
Just off to complain to Tesco.
I have just had the following reply from Tesco:
“Thank you for contacting us about using the England flag on our produce.
Many customers want to make informed choices about the food that they buy on the basis of where it is from. We have carried out a great deal of customer research to understand what information they would prefer. We have found that customers in different parts of the UK have different views. Those in Scotland and Wales identify most readily with Scottish and Welsh produce. We therefore use the respective flags to promote products from those countries. In England, most customers want to understand whether their food is local or regional, so as well as listing the country of origin, we also provide those details.
We are looking to encourage more small local suppliers and celebrate regional food over the coming months. This will give customers more opportunity to identify and buy English food.”
Looking at their website (http://www.tesco.com/regionalsourcing/), they seem to have wholeheartedly embraced the EU regions, even going so far as to equate regional produce with “local”. It’s 120 miles from me to the end of “my” region, that’s hardly local!
Thanks Cenwulf for that.
Tesco still are still failing to notice the double standard of putting the Saltire on Scottish produced goods and the Union flag on English produce.
http://www.tesco.com/regionalsourcing makes interesting viewing. Compare the amount of suppliers in Scotland to any of the other “UK” “regions”!
And of course on their “regional” pages Scotland and Wales are identified by their national flags but England… sorry, the “English regions” and Northern Ireland have no flag.
Tesco has to be the next on our list.
This is a copy of an email I just sent to Tesco -
This is just to let you, the anti-English Tesco people, I WANT an ENGLISH flag on English products, not British flags. You bend over backwards to accomodate the Irish,Scottish and Welsh people, while we the ENGLISH get ignored, which apart from anything else is racist. We, the English are a huge buying force and we will have an English flag on English products. Until we get the flag, I will boycott all Tesco shops. I may only be one person, but soon it will be two then four….you get the picture. Websites like http://www.wearetheenglish.com keep us all informed about your anti-English practices.
